An Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC), also known as an IBC tote or IBC tank, is a reusable industrial container designed for the transport and storage of bulk liquid and granulated substances. These versatile containers have become essential in modern industry, offering a perfect balance between the small quantities handled by drums and the large volumes transported in tanker trucks.

Standard IBC tanks hold between 275 to 330 gallons (1,040 to 1,250 liters) of liquid or dry goods. They feature a rigid outer cage made of galvanized steel that protects an inner container, typically made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This design provides excellent structural integrity while remaining lightweight enough for efficient handling.

The cubic shape of IBC tanks allows for optimal space utilization during storage and transport. A standard 275-gallon IBC fits perfectly on a pallet and can be stacked two or three high when full, maximizing warehouse space and reducing shipping costs significantly compared to traditional drum packaging.
